What to expect
Most Quest headsets last roughly two to three hours on a charge, less for graphically heavy games and more for light media. The battery is small because the headset has to stay light on your face — it's a deliberate trade-off.
Settings that save power
Lower the display brightness, drop the refresh rate from 120Hz to 90Hz, turn off the controllers when not in use, and reduce the volume. Each helps a little, and together they meaningfully extend a session.
Play while charging
You can play plugged in. Use a long USB-C cable and a good wall charger to play indefinitely for seated experiences, or a power bank clipped to your strap for room-scale freedom.
Battery straps
A head strap with a built-in battery roughly doubles your playtime and, as a bonus, balances the weight toward the back of your head for extra comfort. It's the most popular accessory among heavy users for exactly this reason.
